Spotlight On Mental Health

Hi everyone,

The Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA) is looking for people with lived and living experience across the country to take part in focus groups related to the Act for Mental Health campaign. The voices, perspectives and priorities emerging form these conversations have directly shaped the campaign policy positions and communications materials.

To deepen our understanding of the particular mental health and substance use health needs of specific populations, CMHA National is hosting a series of virtual focus groups with people with lived and living experience in early February 2023. Content from these discussions will continue to shape our policy positions and communications materials.

We’re seeking your support in identifying participants for these focus group discussions.

What?

We’re looking for 8-10 people from the following communities across the country to participate in 1hr virtual conversations hosted by CMHA National. Focus groups will take place in English. CMHA National will facilitate one-one-one conversations with those who will to participate in French. No honorarium will be provided. All participants will be required to fill out consent forms.

When?

·         Feb. 1, 1-2pm EST: 2SLGBTQ+ folks 

·         Feb. 1, 3-4pm EST: Caregivers and family members  

·         Feb. 2, 2-3pm EST: Youth (aged 18-25) 

·         Feb. 3, 1-2pm EST: Indigenous people 

·         Feb. 6, 1-2pm EST: Black and People of Colour
