Oct 15 is Global Peer Support Celebration Day! Come join us for an interactive session on Peer Specialists as Agents of Change to Reduce Structural Stigma with guest presenters from the Mental Health Commission of Canada and Peer Support Canada.
We will explore how structural stigma shapes systems, policies and practices; and how peer specialists can drive meaningful change
within the mental health industry of Canada.
Through expert insights, discussion and shared learning participants will explore how to:
• Challenge the status quo through intentional systemic influence
• Navigate institutional resistance by sharing experiences discussing possible ways forward
• Amplify the power and long-term impact of peer-led change
Stephanie Knaak and Hannah Kohler of the Commission will join Allison Dunning,
Executive Director of Peer Support Canada, to lead this conversation.
We are proud to host this session in honour of Global Peer Support Celebration Day, recognizing that the
best way to celebrate peer work is by co-creating the systemic changes that truly empower and support it.
