CIF Project Summary

Workplace Wellbeing & Career Empowerment

This project is a workshop series designed to support individuals in building healthier, more fulfilling relationships with their work and careers. Through interactive sessions, participants will explore their values, strengths, and career interests, while gaining practical tools to navigate employment, prevent burnout, set boundaries, and cultivate a growth mindset. The workshops provide a safe, inclusive, and non-judgmental space for individuals to reflect, connect, and learn alongside others with shared experiences.

This project is designed for individuals who have faced barriers to finding or sustaining meaningful work, including those navigating mental health challenges, workplace stress, or systemic obstacles. By fostering connection and empowerment, the workshops aim to reduce isolation and support participants in moving toward work that aligns with their well-being and personal goals.

Throughout project activities we hope participants will:

  • Increase self-awareness and identify personal strengths
  • Explore emotional and psychological impacts of work
  • Develop pathways toward more fulfilling and sustainable employment
  • Foster connection with other peers

Workplace Wellbeing and Career Empowerment is a community project developed and led by Katie Wong, a peer, trained coach, and experienced group facilitator in mental health wellbeing in workplace settings. Katie’s coaching philosophy is that participants are the masters of their own lives and her role is not to tell them what they should do, but rather meet them where they are at and be a handrail they can lean on as they walk their chosen path.

  • Open to individuals with lived or living experience of mental health and/or substance use challenges
  • Sessions held both virtually (Zoom) and in person
  • Participation is free
  • Registration is required
