Flow & Flourish Recovery Yoga

Flow & Flourish Recovery Yoga is a trauma-informed Yoga class series offering a combination of gentle movement (Flow Yoga and stretches) and guided meditation (Yoga Nidra).

With these gatherings, we will provide a mix of art material and resourceful tools (fidget gadgets) that reduce anxiety and stress for grounding if movements are not their preference. These inanimate resources can provide a sense of belonging while catering to low-energy (low spoons) days. Mats, props, water, tea, and light snacks will be provided.

Throughout project activities we hope to:

  • Foster a sense of empowerment through movement and grounding in one’s body and mind
  • Teach grounding and soothing skills that participants can practice on their own at home
  • Promote a sense of community and belonging to a group with similar goals of self-compassion and holistic recovery


Flow & Flourish Recovery Yoga is a community project led by Bella, a peer who found Yoga helped her to recover, manage, and navigate daily life. Bella’s lived experience encourages her to seek ways to share Yoga with others.

  • Open to those in Vancouver with lived/living experience of mental health and/or substance use challenges
  • Participation is free
  • Registration is requested
  • Drop-ins are also welcomed
