May is Mental Health Awareness Month, and this week (May 6-12, 2024) is Mental Health Week!

The Family Support Institute of BC (FSI) acknowledges the intersection of disability and mental health conditions, recognizing the unique challenges individuals may face in navigating both realms. Whether it’s managing the emotional toll of a disability, coping with mental health conditions alongside physical limitations, or facing societal stigma and barriers, the intersection of these identities can be complex. However, it’s also a space where resilience shines, where communities can offer support and understanding. To learn more and access support, consider exploring resources, such as Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA).

If you or a loved one might benefit from the support of someone who has walked this path, we invite you to reach out to FSI. Let’s continue fostering compassion, empathy, and empowerment within our communities, ensuring that everyone has the resources and understanding they need to thrive.
