Our Communication and Group Facilitation Workshop provides the basic skills necessary for group facilitation allowing interested individuals to host safe, respectful spaces for growth and mutual learning.  Participants will learn how to support others in a group setting through constructive dialogue, while developing skills in problem-solving, conflict management, and planning and decision making.

  • Voices & Visions
    Tuesday, May 7, 1:30 – 2:30 PM, In-person
Based on the international Hearing Voices Network model, Voices & Visions support groups are peer-led support groups that explore living well with voices, visions, and other unique sensory experiences and/or beliefs. Voices & Visions support groups are intended as safe(r), supportive spaces where people can speak openly about their experiences without fear of judgment, exchange strategies and ideas, and build community. Open to those with lived experience and their supporters!

Create positive energy for yourself and others in this Mindful Movements and Meditation class rooted in Kundalini yoga, that is suitable for those wanting to raise their endorphins, finding stillness from within and elevating their sense of well-being.

  • Art Therapy for Wellness
    Wednesday, May 8, 6:00 – 8:00 PM, Online
Weekly art therapy is offered via video conference to support self-care and wellness. After a quick check-in, individuals create art in any medium. The facilitator is available during this time to assist participants in choosing basic supplies from home to use in expressing their inner world. Then, together, you will look at the image to discover any personal meaning or insights.

  • Bipolar Community Support Group
    Thursday, May 9, 4:00 – 6:00 PM, In-person
An inclusive support group that offers a safe space for individuals living with bipolar to share personal experiences, lend a compassionate ear, and offer validation and acceptance. This is a semi-structured group, guided by a counsellor and peers, that prioritizes understanding and empathy, offers accessible resources and coping tools, and keeps an overall focus on enhancing wellness for each individual on their mental health journey.

  • Talking With Your Doctor
    Saturday, May 11, 1:00 – 2:30 PM, Online
Get the most out of your time with your doctor! Peer facilitators lead this 1.5 hour interactive workshop to empower patients to be active participants in their health care. An active patient asks questions, voices concerns and has opinions about their care which they share with their doctor(s) and other healthcare professionals. Using the PACE framework, we explore common challenges with doctor-patient interactions and learn techniques on how to improve them. Come away from this session with tips to encourage collaboration and improve communication with your doctor(s) and other healthcare professionals.

All groups and courses are free to attend. You are not required to have a referral, diagnosis, or be a member to participate; all are welcome! Ready to prioritize your mental health? Mark your calendar and join us for a week of compassion, connection, and self-discovery.
