Social Media Contract with Vancouver Coastal Health’s Consumer Involvement & Initiatives Program

Duration of Placement: 6 month contract with potential to renew

Pay and Hours:  $25.00 per hour, up to 25 hours per month

Location of Work: Remote (from home)

Vancouver Coastal Health’s Consumer Involvement & Initiatives program (CI&I) is looking for an individual to fill the role of Social Media Contractor for our Spotlight on Mental Health social media channels. This individual will work with the CI&I team to improve upon, optimize, and grow our social media presence.

Duties include:

  • Schedule and post content to Spotlight on Mental Health’s social media channels (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn) in collaboration with the Consumer Involvement & Initiatives team using a content calendar and the Hopper HQ platform
  • Design/create content to be posted on social media channels using the Spotlight on Mental Health’s branding (colours, logos, fonts, etc.)
  • Be responsible for social media engagement, such as:
    • Reply to comments
    • Comment on relevant community posts
    • Like relevant community posts
    • Share relevant community posts
  • Ensure the tone, voice, and overall communication across all social media platforms represent the brand and is uniform
  • Compile and analyze social media reports

Skills and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of social media trends, hashtags, and engagement strategy
  • Ability to work with creative tools like Canva
  • Experience using a content calendar/scheduling tool like Hopper HQ, or willingness to learn
  • Proven experience in creating engaging content on different social media platforms—Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and LinkedIn
  • Ability to turn a concept into compelling content
  • Ability to incorporate the Spotlight on Mental Health brand voice and identity in digital content
  • Demonstrated excellence in writing, proofreading, and editing
  • Extensive knowledge of the popular social media platforms
  • The capacity to work independently and collaboratively
  • Have personal lived/living experience with Mental Health and/or Substance Use challenges (considered an asset)
